It is very important that you contact your child’s school staff in order to monitor your child’s progress. Without knowing how he or she is performing or behaving in school, you will never be able to prepare your child for success.

Most importantly, your child needs YOU to advocate for hime or her. Most times, children seriously need you to listen to their frustrations, concerns and questions about their academic experiences. There’s always two sides to a story, so be sure to support your child in the best way that you can. Most times it’s simply a misunderstanding or miscommunication between student and staff. Listen to your child!

Whenever your child has a problem involving a teacher, use these steps to find your child’s teacher contact information online:

  • Use this website to find your child’s school district site, then school site and contact telephone number.  List of WA State School Districts. (Out of state parents, simply use an internet search like Google, Yahoo or Bing to find this information.)
  • Call your child’s school to ask for the contact information of your child’s academic counselor.
  • Contact your child’s academic counselor to request your child’s online login information (user id and password).
